Miracle Monday…Meet Hannah!

It’s #MiracleMonday and today we are celebrating Hannah!! Hannah was born with an omphalocele, a condition at birth where the internal organs grow outside of the body because of a hole in the abdomen. She spent 72 days in the NICU at Mercy Health – Children’s Hospital, which allowed her body to partially heal the abdominal defect. At five months she contracted Respiratory Syncytial Virus, leading to pulmonary hypertension, and lengthy hospital stays. She underwent surgery at two years old which made it easier for her to eat. At age 4 Hannah suffered from two bowel obstructions in a years’ time that resulted in surgery and a six week hospital stay between the two! We are happy to say that now she is a healthy, typical nine year old and hasn’t had any issues in five years.
